The Commonwealth of Accra (or simply the Commonwealth) is a powerful democratic socialist nation inhabited primarily by Mechanics. It operates under a form of direct, stable democracy with strict bureaucracy and well-established laws. Much like the Vanguard Exclave, they see themselves as the truest representatives of Gaia.
Most enterprise within the Commonwealth is either fully state-owned or cooperatively owned by the workers themselves.
history and foreign relations
The Commonwealth was born out of a rebellion against the authoritarian Vanguard Exclave, sparking the multi-phase Commonwealth-Exclave conflict. Following its successful split, the Commonwealth rapidly grew, eventually becoming much more powerful than its ancestral faction. It is now the largest Mechanic faction on Euphrosyne.
The Commonwealth is extremely hostile toward the Vanguard Exclave, and the two are constantly at war. Because of its aggressive neuron mining operations, the Commonwealth is also at war with both the HMC and Tsiktral.
Conversely, the Commonwealth maintains tight, mutually beneficial relationships with the Nomads and the Rustland Trade Union (RTU) due to their extensive trading ties.
internal struggles
Despite its democratic socialist ideals, the Commonwealth struggles with internal corruption and shadow politics. The faction suffers from the sheer inefficiency of its own bureaucratic apparatus, alongside growing issues regarding its secret state police force and widespread citizen surveillance.

Just like other Mechanic factions, the Commonwealth of Accra is a massive exporter of all kinds of advanced technology. They are also heavily involved in the dangerous work of mining and exporting neurons.
