The host disease is an infection spread primarily by mosquito spawns that turns humans, animals, and other biological creatures into mindless, subservient slaves of the Tsiktral hive.
symptoms
When infected, the victim first becomes extremely sick. Over time, they develop an overwhelming, unbreakable urge to travel to the nearest hive-controlled lands in order to “donate” their body to the hive.
fate of the hosts
Once they reach the hive, their fate varies depending on the hive’s needs. They may be immediately eaten, repurposed as mindless slaves or workers, or used essentially as farm animals and nests for smaller spawns. On rarer occasions, they undergo horrifying mutations to become foot soldiers and are sent out en masse as weak combat units alongside spawns, or more commonly, herded along as a walking calorie source for the spawns to feed on during campaigns.
