overview

The Vitriol Sea is a massive, highly toxic body of water roughly the size of a continent, located to the west of the Sludge. The sea was artificially created during the Great War when a massive liquid waste reservoir in the region was struck by nuclear bombardment.

geography

The coastline of the Vitriol Sea is known for its striking, highly toxic blue crystal beaches.

In the east, the sea features a large trash archipelago that serves as the primary home and operating base for The Black Pact, an independent scavenger faction that navigates the corrosive waters using heavily armored boats. In contrast, the western expanse of the sea is largely uninhabited, stretching endlessly until it meets RS-1 in the northeast.

banditry

The waters are perilous not just due to toxicity, but also because of piracy. Gangs operating armored vessels will often chase down and ambush vulnerable ships traversing the Vitriol Sea.

wildlife

Despite its extreme toxicity, the sea and its coastlines are not devoid of life. The shores are inhabited by creatures like dubongs and dragons, which have adapted to the harsh environment. Meanwhile, rumor and legend suggest that the deep, unexplored depths of the sea are haunted by colossal, forgotten, unnamed beasts.
