WS-2 stands for Waste Sector 2. It is a walled-off territory on Euphrosyne that was utilized by the Hephaestus Mining Corporation (HMC) for massive waste storage prior to the Great War. Due to its large quantity of building material waste, the sector is now often called the Brickyard.
the Great War
During the Great War, the majority of captured soldiers were moved to various waste sectors, with WS-2 serving as the primary holding area. Eventually, the Vanguard struck a temporary deal with the Protectorate and managed to evacuate most of the prisoners from the sector.
However, they left their stranded, fortified Vanguard soldiers behind on the planet with no support, eventually giving rise to the Mechanics culture.
