The Great War refers to the interstellar war between Protectorate and Vanguard. As a result of the war Euphrosyne got nuked into oblivion.

During the chaos of the nuclear bombardment, Tsiktral actually partially caused the massive orbital rupture that created the deadly fugue and debris orbit that surrounds the planet today. Tsiktral’s intention was to permanently isolate Euphrosyne and eventually remove the hostile human and machine inhabitants so it could finally live in peace. To this day, the massive debris and fugue field completely isolates the planet, preventing any and all spacecraft from leaving or entering.
