Mechanics are a mining and industry focused culture on Euphrosyne. They primarily live in old, pre-war industrial plants. Because these plants were entirely automated before the war, no human was ever supposed to step foot in them. They are heavy consumers of alcohol imported from other regions (especially beer), and they sustain themselves by growing food in massive underground hydroponics farms.
Due to their advanced infrastructure, the Mechanics control some of the largest localized internet networks on the planet, utilizing physical optic cables to establish communication between their settlements.
However, despite their advanced settlements, the massive, dark tunnels and industrial corridors of Mechanic cities are often breeding grounds for banditry, where independent gangs and outlaws frequently ambush inhabitants and travelers.

Mechanics have the most distinct accent of all the cultures on Euphrosyne. Their speech is hard to understand for most other inhabitants and vice versa. People can usually immediately tell someone is a Mechanic simply by their strong accent.
